Tasting Australia

Rub shoulders with the tastiest celebrities
29 April - 6 May 2010

Tasting Australia was an eight day celebration of food and wine in Adelaide and South Australia.

124 leading food and wine media and celebrity chefs from across Australia and around the world took part in the event, from cooking demonstrations, classes and debates to travelling around South Australia's regions to sample our world-class food and wine.

Rosemary Shrager and Antony Worrall Thompson (UK) were among the first-time international visitors at the 2010 event. Irish born Paul Rankin attended for the second time and the legendary Antonio Carluccio attended for a third time. These were just some of the international names. Top chefs, writers and television presenters from Australia included Joanna SavillWill Studd, Manu Feildel, Maeve O'Meara, Shannon Bennett, Ben O'Donoghue, Pete Evans, Anna Gare, Stephanie Alexander, Maggie Beer, Lyndey Milan, Paul Mercurio, Poh Ling Yeow, Ed Halmagyi, Jill Norman, Darren Simpson, Frank Camorra and Simon Bryant.

The BankSA Feast for the Senses presented by LifeStyle FOOD Channel (1 and 2 May) was the biggest yet. The free two-day event saw crowds of over 40,000 converge on Adelaide's Elder Park to sample the gourmet food and participate in kids' cooking classes.
