20 Days Left to Enter: Chefs of Australia, where are you?
With only 20 days left to enter the 2010 LifeStyle FOOD Channel Australian Regional Culinary Competition, potential entrants from around Australia are being urged to sign up NOW - and be in the running for an all-expenses gourmet trip to Asia!
With teams already registered from South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia, the pressure is on for Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and the Northern Territory to field teams.
Ian Parmenter, Festival Director, Tasting Australia said that there is still scope for more regions to showcase their talent.
We are urging cookery professionals from every state in the country to put up their hand and be counted, as part of the only competition of its kind, aiming to recognise, develop and promote professional cookery by attracting teams from all over Australia, he said.
This competition has been successfully staged since 1997 and we are just sending out the message as a friendly reminder for all of the many teams to whom we have spoken to over the last six months to put pen to paper.
We want local communities to urge their own talented culinary practitioners to enter and experience an elite cooking competition amongst the best of their peers from Australia making participation the professional experience of a lifetime, said Ian Parmenter.
"All it takes is three people - two chefs and an apprentice or one chef and two apprentices - over two days in Adelaide: Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1," he said.
Teams will serve up a three-course meal to The Best in Australias Ben ODonoghue; renowned restaurant critic and food editor for The Australian newspaper John Lethlean; chef, author and TV presenter Kate Lamont; TV chef Pete Evans, Melbournes MoVida chef/restaurateur Frank Camorra, and many more. The judging panel for the 2010 LifeStyle FOOD Channel Australian Regional Culinary Competition is made up of 18 judges from around the country.
To enter the competition, teams must complete the application form available on the Tasting Australia website - www.tasting-australia.com.au. Entries close on 28 February 2010.
The LifeStyle FOOD Channel Australian Regional Culinary Competition will be held at the Regency International Centre, part of the TAFE SA Regency Campus, Adelaide.
